Founder of Black-Owned Boutique Set to Disrupt Online Shoe Industry

Low Heel No Heel is a Black woman-owned online shoe boutique that specializes in offering women’s shoes that are affordable, comfortable, and heels that are under 4 inches tall. Shannon Ashmore-McMath, founder and owner of the company, says that she wants to provide women with stylish shoes that can be worn for many occasions – work, school, or a night out on the town.
“I wanted women to have a one-stop-shop for all of their footwear needs and also motivate women and people of color to venture into entrepreneurship,” says Shannon who is from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She continues, “I have received feedback from women from all walks of life who want stylish shoes without having to be uncomfortable all throughout the day by having to wear 6-inch heels. They also feel as if shoes with a lower heel aren’t as stylish. We feel that we have solved the most common issues with women’s shoes. We also offer free shipping on all orders over $50 and no monthly subscriptions. We are excited about our grand opening and looking forward to serving our future customers!”

The idea of Low Heel No Heel came about one day in 2013 when Shannon began shopping for work shoes online. While shopping, she saw many cute styles, but none that had a heel respectable and comfortable enough for the daily 9-5 grind. Couple that with a car accident a few years prior – super high heels were simply out of the question.

For many years, a full-time job, school, and life, in general, made her put her idea on hold… until now that is. Fast forward to 2020 and here she is successfully running her business. Her company offers shoes with no gimmicks or subscriptions required – just stylish shoes that won’t break the bank!
