On 8th July, 2017, Mr. Francis Owusu Mensah will be speaking to the youth of Obuasi at an event named Leaders of Inspiration. Leaders of Inspiration is a youth oriented organisation, organising events where the youth gets the opportunity to meet their role models and interact with them. This month’s meeting takes place at the Catholic Social Centre in Obuasi from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Lets take a look at the speaker for the event on saturday, Mr. Francis Owusu Mensah.

Francis Owusu Mensah is the CEO of NANNN Agency, a company he started after leaving Anglogold Ashanti in 2015 and the Patron for PALMinistry. Mr. Owusu Mensah is also a lifetime counsellor. Born 56 years ago, Mr. Owusu Mensah has five kids consisting of three boys and two girls with his beautiful wife, Charlotte Owusu Mensah.


Educational background

Francis Owusu Mensah holds a Bachelor of Science in Mine Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology (UMat), Tarkwa, which he obtained in 1985. He further obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Mine Engineering from the same university in 1986. In 2010, he studied for MSc Eng from the WITTS University in South Africa.

Career History

Mr. Owusu Mensah was part of a contingent consisting of 8 students and 4 lecturers who embarked on a Mine Engineering working Tour to Holland, Germany, France and Austria in 1986. He joined Anglogold Ashanti (Ashanti Goldfields), Obuasi Mine later the same year. In 1988, he was working as the Production Supervisor at the underground section of the mine. He was promoted to a Mine Captain two years later in 1990. He led in the drawing of the Open Pit plan of the mine in 1991. He moved to the underground Mine Planning department in 1992. In 1996, he was moved again to the position of a Chief Mine Engineer at the South Mine in Obuasi. He worked at the Strategic Planning department of Anglogold Ashanti from 1998 to 2000 where he later became Chief Mine Engineering Strategic Planner from 2001 to 2004.

From 2004 to 2010, he was serving as the Assistant Technical Services Manager from where he later headed the department as the Technical Services Manager from 2011 to 2013. His last position at the mine was from 2013 to 2015 when he held the position of Business Planning Manager.
Mr. Owusu Mensah is currently running his own company which consist of a group of businesses. NANNN Agency also provides consultation for small businesses and startups.


Francis Owusu Mensah is a Christian with the Triumphant Church and a key member of  TEARS of Christ Ministry, a non-denominational christian fellowship headquartered in Obuasi.

Mr. Owusu Mensah has contributed immensely to the development of young people in Obuasi and its environs. He is currently a member of Ohemaa Foundation for the Needy, a not-for-profit organisation helping the needy in the country. He is also a motivational speaker and has spoken at various events including the annual Youth Revolution Conference in 2015 and 2016 in Obuasi.

Francis Owusu Mensah’s life seems to be full of adventure as he has embarked on mine visits to South Africa for an amazing 25 times, spending 3 months in Canada, 1 month in Australia and undertaking another 1 month course at Imperial College, London. He has written 4 Technical papers throughout his career.

He likes playing Squash, reading and counselling.
