This Attorney has Launched a Legal Subscription Service for Small Businesses

LaConya Murray, Esq., founder of Off The Mark IP Solutions (OTM), has launched a low-cost, high-value subscription service for small businesses in need of ongoing legal support. Her goal is to bridge the gap between the need for legal counsel when starting a business and the costs associated with hiring a business attorney.

Dubbed the Genius Insider Program, OTM’s legal subscription provides entrepreneurs and small business owners with unlimited access to brand protection, legal advice, and business mentorship.

Genius Insider members receive a myriad of tools and resources to help them protect and run their business effectively, including:

• 1:1 legal consultations
• Free contract templates and document review
• Live monthly masterclasses covering business and legal topics
• Discounted trademark registration

LaConya Murray, Esq., founder, and lead brand attorney of OTM, became inspired to launch the Genius Insider Program after realizing how many entrepreneurs lack the proper legal knowledge and/or counsel to protect their business.

“When it comes to trademarks, copyrights, and contract agreements, many entrepreneurs will either try to do it themselves or avoid it altogether because they don’t have the budget to hire a business attorney on billable hours,” said Murray. “That’s one of the main reasons that 36 to 53 percent of small businesses get sued every year — they’re not legally protected.”

Murray says the Genius Insider Program is a happy medium for entrepreneurs and small business owners who may not be ready to hire a full-time attorney but desire ongoing legal support. The program is also a way for Murray to mentor her clients from a business perspective.

“Starting and running your own business is tough — I know because I’m a business owner myself,” said Murray. “I’ve written books, started a podcast, and launched courses as not only tools to educate my audience but as leverage to build my brand. The Genius Insider Program helps bridge that gap between brand protection and brand innovation.”

The Artistic Mind of a Criminal

I used to have a client who is a professor when it comes to art, paintings and antiques. He paints one portrait and makes millions out of it and that really fascinated me so much that I started doing some research into the Art, paintings and antiques industry. I discovered that the painting industry in Ghana is very small and young but elsewhere in the world, it is a huge industry which contributes significantly to the economy of these countries. The USA economy in 2014 and 2015 benefited US$730 billion and US$763.6 billion respectively from the Art, Paintings and Antiques sector(1). US$12 billion (£9.2 billion) was contributed to the UK GDP in 2016 from the Art and Painting sector(2) with Singapore’s Art and Painting contributing S$2.13 billion to the GDP in 2013(3).
