137 individuals, companies shortlisted for Ghana Business Awards on Friday

With a team of technical expertise (awards board) and independent consultants, chaired by Prof. Kwaku Atuahene-Gima, the award categories are modelled to recognise important commercial and industrial players who contribute significantly to the economy.

The awards night and dinner will be jointly chaired by the Chairman of the Peace Council, Rev. Prof, Emmanuel Asante, and the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu.

It is an initiative of Globe Productions in partnership with the Ministry of Business Development,the Graphic Business, Media General and the Institute of Directors, Ghana.

The Executive Director of Globe Productions, Mr Latif Abubakar, in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Accra, said all was set for the second edition of the Ghana Business Awards which will focus on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Ghana.”

“Out of 272 companies that submitted their nominations, 117 of them were shortlisted. The second edition will focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana.

“It is informed by the need to encourage businesses in the country to think innovation and create the necessary platforms that breeds entrepreneurship and ultimately help their businesses become competitive international as well as improve on job creation in the economy,” he said.

He explained that the awards night would climax a number of events which had been undertaken by the Ghana Business Summit.

This year’s Ghana Business Summit will explore innovative and entrepreneurship opportunities in the country while recognising the need to dialogue on growth and sustainability among stakeholders.
