Revenge porn is the revealing of sexually explicit images or videos of a person posted on the Internet, typically by a former sexual partner, without the consent of the subject and in order to cause them distress or embarrassment.
It may refer to all sexually explicit videos and images of a person by former partner, old friend, hacker, blackmailer or whoever for whatever motive. One man has decided to stand in the gap and end the act and his name is Barimah Amoaning Samuel.
Who is he?
Barimah Amoaning Samuel, popularly known as Chief Blogger, is from Agona Bobikuma in the Central Region. He attended St John’s Anglican Basic School in Nsawam and continued at New Juaben Senior High School in Koforidua.
He is a broadcast Journalist from Ghana Media School and a Google Certified Digital Marketer with certification from Google endorsed by International Advertising Bureau Europe.
Growing up, the Chief Blogger admits he had always wanted to be in the media,
“I realised I was very articulate and loved public speaking at the time”, he said, adding that it is therefore no surprise that he ended up being a broadcast journalist, blogger and Digital marketer.
Samuel is the co-founder of Entamoty.com. He started the entertainment website with his business partner Yusif Zagey, to motivate the youth through entertainment. ENTAMOTY stands for Entertainment through Motivation.
Also, he is introducing an online Learning Africa initiative that will encourage more Ghanaians to opt for free online courses. His team guides participants through any course they wish to pursue online.
End Revenge Porn in Ghana Campaign
Barimah Amoaning is currently working on a project called , “End Revenge Porn In Ghana” where he sensitizes the public about the pros and cons of non consensual pornography and cyber security. Delving into his campaign, he revealed that society always forget about persons who record and leak innocent people’s videos to the general public.
“In July 2016, one Benedicta Yeboah was reported to have committed suicide after her sex tape was leaked on the internet by her boyfriend. Very tragic, however, we hypocritically crucify, especially the females and paint them in a way as if they are not humans after seeing any leaked sex tapes or nude images”, he said.
“Our motive is to create awareness and get lawmakers to criminalize Revenge porn”, he added.
So far the Chief Blogger and his team has interviewed one lady on camera and several others online.
“This campaign by Entamoty Media Ltd is here as a result of the myriads of nonconsensual pornography (Sex tapes, leaked nude videos) on social media and adult websites in our country.”
Barimah Amoaning revealed that, they are currently in talks with Commision for Human Rights and Administrative Justice and other legal institutions to join them in the fight. They wish to also embark on a tour to senior high schools to create awareness about the menace.
“We are building a hub of experts legally, socially and psychologically to assist and fight for justice for ladies and men who fall victims to revenge porn”, he said.
He added that an anonymous video has been shot and uploaded to many social media platforms with a strong message against revenge porn and the video has already gotten over 10,000 views.

“Am mostly inspired by the curiosity to make the world a better place. Honestly, most of my inspirations come from God too”, he said.

The chief blogger revealed the writings of Brian Tracy helped to mould his perception and way of thinking as a young African, likewise his mother.
“My mother, Doris Sarpong has always expected the best from me. I have always wanted to make my mom proud. She had a dream she couldn’t achieve and I want to achieve that goal to make her proud of me”, he said.

Samuel Amoaning advised the youth of today:
“They shouldn’t become like me, they should be unique in their own way; identify their passion and focus on it like never before. Loving the creator should be the most priority”, he said.
