Career Advising Platform, Career 180, has raised $100k in seed funding from EdVentures

Cairo-based career advising platform Career 180 has raised a $100 000 seed funding round from EdVentures, the venture capital (VC) arm of Egypt’s Nahdet Misr Publishing Group.

Career 180 was founded in 2016 by Shrouk Alaa Eldin and Mohamed Akmal.

The startup aims to connect youth at the onset of their career to experts, mentorship, opportunities and events that guide them in their career development process through a range of online and offline products.

Eldin told Ventureburn today that the deal had been concluded in May.

Tech publication MenaBytes reported in an article yesterday that Career 180 the investment will support its expansion plans, help the startup develop its online platform as well as expand its career workshops and events across Egypt.

Career 180 is the second startup EdVenture has invested in this year. In July the corporate venture capital fund invested $100 000 in Cairo-based edtech startup Colnn (see this story).
