The Galaxy Foundation, a non-profit organization, based in Obuasi has donated Veronica buckets, tables and toiletries to two orphanages and two communities in Obuasi to help in in curbing the spread of the conoravirus pandemic.
Speaking to the Executive Director of Galaxy Foundation, David Hagan, he stressed that the two orphanages were targeted because of the number of children in those homes which makes them more highly prone to the virus.
The communities visited were the Pomposo and Diawuoso communities. The Patmos Orphanage and the Adullam Orphanage were the two children’s home they also visited and made donations to. Apart from the donation, they also educated them on the right way of hand washing to prevent the spread of the virus.
Since Ghana reported its first case of coronavirus in the middle of March, 2020, the country currently has 195 confirmed cases with 5 deaths.
Galaxy foundation is a non-profitable organization with the aim of providing free health care for individuals and communities which found it difficult in accessing such healthcare due to geographical, social or financial reasons. Galaxy foundation has provided free reconstructive plastic and general surgeries to many people living with various deformities but cannot afford the services of surgeons.
