Galaxy Foundation on last Friday presented a wheelchair to 25 year old Owusu, who got paralyzed as a result of game hunting in a forest at Adansi Adwafo. He accidentally fell into a 60 feet abandoned galamsey pit. He has been paralyzed for the past 24 months.
‘’Walking was unbearable, I couldn’t even sit and stand straight. The pains stopped me from socializing, from participating in many things but with the wheelchair, I can now move around for some fresh air” Owusu told Galaxy foundation.
Galaxy foundation would later raise funds to support Owusu’s surgery. He needs a laminectomy, a surgical procedure where part of the vertebral bone is operated to relieve pressure on the spinal cord.
Galaxy foundation Ghana is a non profit organization, ‘’We offer free services and surgical procedures for those that are less privileged and cannot afford the cost’’ David Hagan- Chief officer.
The family couldn’t hide their joy and ecstasy for this wonderful gesture bestowed on Owusu to help him mobile. They prayed for Galaxy foundation and wished them the blessings of God as they keep helping the less privileged.
