Some people inherit money. Some steal from people, companies or governments. Some gamble. Many trade goods or/and services. Most make their money working for others. Majority of people desire to be rich but don’t admit it. The desire to be rich is valid. You can’t get what you don’t desire. You can’t get what you fight. But acquiring wealth has no destination.
That’s why God is concerned with the process – who we become is more important to God than what we get. Proverbs 13:11 (NLT) – Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.Wealth created through legit means brings fulfillment.
Wealth acquired from corrupt means attracts a curse in one’s house. You can make money and spend it in hospitals or your children get wasted by drugs. Proverbs 15:27 (ESV) – Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.Stop chasing money.
Build a career or business and money will naturally follow. If you continually focus on money rather than meeting a human need, you’ll be broke for decades building castles in the air.
