If You Could Step on other’s toes just to get likes on social media, You are pathetic

A man’s wife was in comma. Everyday, one lady will prepare cake in the morning and bring it to him. He was living with his son. That was the first thing they will take before leaving the house.
At work, people will encourage him and will say all nice things to him, always wishing his wife well. Anytime he speaks, everyone becomes quiet to listen and encourage him. He loved the feeling of pity people had for him.

He loved the hugs. He has come to accept and love his new situation. He bought a black suit for her funeral in case she never regained consciousness, even composing a song he will sing at her funeral. He prevented his son from playing ‘happy’ tunes on his piano for fear that their neighbors will think they are happy with his wife’s situation.
“That would be calamity”, he told his son.
Few months time his wife regained consciousness and was brought home.
The cakes stopped coming.
Everyone was now listening to his wife. They want to know how she felt in comma. Their son was now good at his piano and the attention was also shifted to him.
No one asked the man how he was doing or feeling again. No one felt pity for him again. He had his wife back but was still lonely. He wanted to be the centre of attention again.
He started telling those who were not aware of his wife’s recovery that she was still in comma and the situation was still bad. He intentionally lost his dog on the sea in order to have the pity of his father but the old boy wouldn’t fall for any of that.
At the end, he killed his father and wife.
(This story is from a movie I watched sometime ago titled PITY)
….
In this era, many people have their joy embedded in the pity people have for them; the likes and comments on their pictures, the likes on their pages, the followers on their accounts and even media hypes.
When those likes, comments and media hype decline, they will go at any length to bring them up. Some people could even insult celebrities and politicians just to attract attention and get their likes and comments coming. They believe social media is everything. We intentionally step on many toes and gives no damn. Those praising and liking your posts and videos aren’t your true friends. They will push you forward and step back. Becareful and be watchful. Those you are stepping on today will be the ones you will need to move forward tomorrow.
Be wise, ignore pity. Be strong, forgo attention seeking. Be your own wo/man. Don’t be pathetic.

The Artistic Mind of a Criminal

I used to have a client who is a professor when it comes to art, paintings and antiques. He paints one portrait and makes millions out of it and that really fascinated me so much that I started doing some research into the Art, paintings and antiques industry. I discovered that the painting industry in Ghana is very small and young but elsewhere in the world, it is a huge industry which contributes significantly to the economy of these countries. The USA economy in 2014 and 2015 benefited US$730 billion and US$763.6 billion respectively from the Art, Paintings and Antiques sector(1). US$12 billion (£9.2 billion) was contributed to the UK GDP in 2016 from the Art and Painting sector(2) with Singapore’s Art and Painting contributing S$2.13 billion to the GDP in 2013(3).
