JODI Construction Limited Donates to Orphanages and Obuasi Local Prisons

JODI Construction Limited, contractors of AngloGold Ashanti, has donated items worth Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc20,000) to two orphanages and the Obuasi Local Prisons. The donation included food items, toiletries, veronica buckets, sachet water and covid-19 educational sticker posters.

Mr. Isaac Kojo Nti, the Administrator and Human Resource Manager of JODI construction Limited said the donation is JODI’s contribution to the collective effort in fighting the coronavirus.

“These donations will also ensure that the less privileged in the communities we operate are not only informed but have some items to support them in this trying times” he said.

The items were donated to the Patmos Children’s Home, Adullam Orphanage and the Obuasi Local Prisons.

DSP Esther Ako-Nunoo, Deputy Superitendent of Prisons at the Obuasi Local Prisons thanked the company for the donation but went ahead to ask for more.

“We really appreciate this donation but it shouldn’t be at this COVID-19 period alone. We hope to see more of these even after this pandemic has passed” she said.

JODI Construction’s exectutive director, Mr. Gregory Parbey, leads a team of Ghanaian expects numbering about 320 on the Obuasi Redevelopment Project of AngloGold Ashanti Ghana with over 50% of these expects coming from the local communities in Obuasi.

JODI Construction Limited is a mid-tier provider of structural, mechanical, piping and plate-work construction and maintenance services to the mining and mineral resource sector.

The Artistic Mind of a Criminal

I used to have a client who is a professor when it comes to art, paintings and antiques. He paints one portrait and makes millions out of it and that really fascinated me so much that I started doing some research into the Art, paintings and antiques industry. I discovered that the painting industry in Ghana is very small and young but elsewhere in the world, it is a huge industry which contributes significantly to the economy of these countries. The USA economy in 2014 and 2015 benefited US$730 billion and US$763.6 billion respectively from the Art, Paintings and Antiques sector(1). US$12 billion (£9.2 billion) was contributed to the UK GDP in 2016 from the Art and Painting sector(2) with Singapore’s Art and Painting contributing S$2.13 billion to the GDP in 2013(3).
