Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine, Supports Free Health Screening at Patmos Orphanage

The President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines and Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine, Eric Asubonteng, has sponsored free health screening for orphans at Patmos orphanage at Tewobaabi in the Ashanti region. The screening was carried out through the Galaxy Foundation.

The free health screening included tests on Hepatitis B, malaria, blood grouping and eye check. Diabetes test was also carried out for the staff at the orphanage. Over 100 people at the orphanage and the Tewobaabi community were screened and dewormed. Some skilled members of the Galaxy Foundation also gave the orphans new haircuts.

Speaking to the Executive Director of Galaxy Foundation, he revealed that the project was intended to make the orphans healthy and prepare them for the Christmas season.

 

Eric Asubonteng has been supporting Galaxy foundation to help save and improve the lives of the most vulnerable people. Speaking to the AGA Managing Director, he said it was his way of showing his gratitude to God.

“God has been so kind to me in life and I feel highly privileged. The only way I can show my gratitude to Him is to support the most vulnerable people in community.
