Realme X series is officially dead

If you were for some reason enamored with Realme’s X series of smartphones, time to start mourning. Madhav Sheth, the company’s CEO for Europe and India, has exclusively revealed to TechRadar that the X series is dead. There will be no more devices in this line, which makes the X7 Max 5G launched in India back in June the last of its kind.

However, this doesn’t mean that Realme will have one less smartphone family going forward. In fact, the X line is going to be replaced by the GT series. “GT is the new X”, Sheth confirmed.

The C series and numbered series will also live on, at least for now, while the GT family will focus on furthering the X line’s legacy as the one that sits above the others in the company’s portfolio.

Fun fact: the Realme X7 Max 5G is just a rebranded Realme GT Neo anyway, but what this means is that such rebrandings won’t happen in the future. We are grateful. An easier way to make sense of a company’s various phone models is always appreciated.

In the near future, the Realme GT Master Edition will be launched in Europe and India on August 18, following the initial announcement for the Chinese market in July.
