Young and Wise GH Returns with a 3-Day ‘Obuasi Must Work’ Summit

Young & Wise GH is a Christian capital development enterprise committed to renewing paradigms and inspiring young people to develop their leadership potential and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ghana.

Since 2016, Young and Wise GH has been organizing the annual Obuasi Must Work Summit which is an empowerment platform where facilitators from the business world share their experiences with the aim of assisting and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth.

Obuasi Must Work (Empowerment Summit) facilitates the transformation of Obuasi through values that influence the discovery of purpose and principles under personal leadership and self-governance.

According the Executive Director of Young and Wise GH, Abraham Poku Hammond, it is his belief that empowerment dialogues between businesses, government and the civil society can cushion the progress of Obuasi.

“We envision the Obuasi Community as a place where the youth feel inspired to discover and deploy ideas, groom up potentials and talents in them to step up to the challenge of rethinking the future of the community” he said.

“We have been committed to realizing this vision through the mobilization of residents of Obuasi who participate in capacity building events” he added.

The theme for this year’s summit is Enterprise Development, Obuasi beyond Gold and the facilitators include seasoned journalist and development expert, Richard Kojo Ellimah, estate developer and CEO of Danywise construction, Frank Aboagye Danyansah. Others are Daniel Arthur-Bentum, Socio-Economic Development Superintendent – Sustainability Department at A.G.A., Pas. Josh Baffoe Ennin, Head Pastor, PIWC, Obuasi and Charles Wundengba, a blogger and digital marketer.

Topics to be discussed at the summit include Paradigm Shift, Passion into Profit, Personal Leadership and Financial Independence. The three days event will begin on the evening of Friday, 9th August and run till Sunday 10th August.

The sessions include talk, workshop, speed mentoring and panel discussion.

How To Command The Respect Of The Market — And Make More Money!

The quotation I inserted as an epigraph above was known to have come from the American steel magnet and billionaire, Andrew Carnegie. That quotation aptly reveals the secret of dominating any market - the ability to do your duty and a little more! The '...a little more' is even more important than doing your duty because that's what really gives you a competitive advantage. Its not just enough to do your duty, you'll have to do it a little more if you want to defile the odds and dominate the market.
