Learning Curve of Self-Improvement Through Personal Development

Personal development is a very broad term. So, let’s take a look at what is personal development and how it can help you in attaining success and becoming a better person.

It stands for anything that benefits you or helps you to grow in any area of your life. As you may see, these things may happen accidentally. Once in a while we all stumble on something that benefits us or stimulates us to further development and growth. However, it is not a good idea to rely solely on those inspirational and occasional incidents.

One of the greatest things you can come up with is a personal development plan. This is where you step in and refuse to rely on accidents only. You become in charge of your own growth and layout a plan. This plan has to be very practical and actionable. Otherwise, it will not benefit you much.

Now, you can come up with a general and overall personal development plan.

You can focus on any particular area of your life and plan for it. As self improvement involves your entire being and your life, you can come up with a plan for improving your diet. For gaining special skills you need to attain success in a certain area of your life.

Putting this plan together may seem like a piece of cake. But that is not so. When you think of improving any area of your life, you cannot completely single it out. You still have to maintain the overall view of things. And many a time other things in your life would start interfering with your plan.

This means you need to be able to put together a list of your targets and stick to it. This is where the struggle comes for most people. Plus, you have to clearly understand your desires and aspirations, when you put together your personal development plan. Remember, it has to be very practical, detailed and actionable. Nothing too general, like I wish to become a fashion designer or I wish to look good.

You cannot possibly act on that and no self-improvement can come from such “personal development plans”. So, this is where you may want to seek help and consult a personal development pro or so called life coach. These people won’t do the job for you. You still would have to sort things out and map your way to finding the best solutions for improvement.

But they can help you to stay focus and not to give up. They can also help you to gain a new view on things and get inspired for finding the right solutions and making the right decisions.

Finally, one has to gain a deep understanding of the self to benefit from personal development. You need to understand who you are and what you want. You need to realize why certain things happen in your life and why you feel certain way about some things.

Once you do that you can put together a plan to improve or change things in your life through personal development.

The Artistic Mind of a Criminal

I used to have a client who is a professor when it comes to art, paintings and antiques. He paints one portrait and makes millions out of it and that really fascinated me so much that I started doing some research into the Art, paintings and antiques industry. I discovered that the painting industry in Ghana is very small and young but elsewhere in the world, it is a huge industry which contributes significantly to the economy of these countries. The USA economy in 2014 and 2015 benefited US$730 billion and US$763.6 billion respectively from the Art, Paintings and Antiques sector(1). US$12 billion (£9.2 billion) was contributed to the UK GDP in 2016 from the Art and Painting sector(2) with Singapore’s Art and Painting contributing S$2.13 billion to the GDP in 2013(3).
