The Cautious Entrepreneur

Entrepreneur, someone who begins a business and assumes the risk for profit. Is it no wonder some of us are reluctant to become an entrepreneur with “Risk” involved. It stops most of us dead in our tracks.

Have you ever thought you might be going in circles in your life and not fulfilling your dreams? You have an itch but can’t seem to scratch it.

You know you want something more out of life but not sure what that something could be.

I had those thoughts too and this blog post is about how we make life changing decisions and why we sometimes are forced into letting go of our security blanket so we can let something else into our lives even if it seems like we’re taking a risk. We may even have to start from scratch terrifying as that might be even worse it could be out of our control.

So if you think you might not be manifesting the life you desire because of the fear related to taking a risk read on:

I’ll confess when I had my day job I really wanted to do something different and had thought about it for a long time.

I wanted to be an Entrepreneur and do my own thing… you know start a business.

Anyway this was one of my fantasies but it held risk and I knew it all too well. I had worked (like a dog) for many years for financial security but yes I admit I was burned out and used up physically. I just wasn’t quite ready to “give it up” mostly for those financial reasons too many risks involved in letting it go.

I finally made a decision to retire and had a timeline going, only had a few more months before I reveled this to my co workers and boss., it wasn’t official yet but I was in that mindset… I’m going to retire soon and maybe follow my dream to be an entrepreneur maybe. Retiring would give me the cushion I needed to make this happen or so I thought…

I was working toward the light at the end of the tunnel and I had a glimpse of it just there beyond my reach.

Then one day my boss wanted to meet with me. Turns out it was really not a meeting but a “lynching” it was unexpected and I sat there in disbelief. There was nothing I could do. The exact words he used “We’re going to have to let you go,” nice going! He fired me.

I remember him saying, now if you think you might cry on the way home just pull over on the side of the road and don’t be driving while your upset little lady! Ha! I wanted to burst out laughing and had to control the urge. You know you’re ready to leave your job if you start laughing when they tell you you’re fired! My heart was saying yes! What he really did was open the cage to let me fly. I’ll send a thank you note one day soon.

I’ll confess I did cry but I only cried a little bit and that was days later when I had time to think about the total injustice of it. I wanted to be the one to break up! I wanted to be in control and I wanted to be the one to say adios’.

I was the oldest person in our department and one of the highest paid so of course it makes perfect sense they let me go months before my retirement. Unfortunately this scenario seems to be all too familiar in Corporate America today and might have happened to some of you. Poor pitiful us. Never!

Nope for me it was the beginning of a whole new exciting chapter, finally I could be an entrepreneur.

Luckily I’d already started down the entrepreneurial road and didn’t even know it. I’d joined a multi level marketing company in pre launch months earlier my friend begged me to join in her down line. The company quickly fizzled but I had a taste of what could be, what was possible. I soon joined another.

I had picked myself up dusted myself off and dug into my new career as you guessed it… Entrepreneur! I really like the sound.

Lucky for you, you don’t have to go through what I went through to get what you want. The beauty of a multi level marketing business is the flexibility to work 10 hours a week while you build residual income by doing it this way you never have to have your security snatched out from under you. You can have your cake and eat it too.

So if you find yourself in a similar circumstance just remember if it makes you nervous it’s probably a good idea. Risk can be a great motivator so be fearless, be a leader, forge ahead… never look back and don’t have any regrets make the most of your circumstances.

If you are in a similar situation or you just want to start something new by joining a dynamic multi level marketing company and become an entrepreneur then just do it.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you. I am here to be your coach, mentor or friend. I will lead you in the right direction.

My door is always open.
