WASSCE 2020 suspended till Further Notice

The West African Examinations Council has put on hold the WASSCE 2020 timetable till further notice to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. This was revealed in a memo released on Friday afternoon.

WAEC explained that the decision was approved by the chairman of the council and the decision would be reviewed when the health situation improves.

SUSPENSION OF WASSCE (SC) 2O2O TIMETABLE

Our memorandum referenced REG.4.01WASSCE/XXIU202 dated March 19. 2020 on the above-mentioned subj ect refers.
The negative impact of the novel and deadly COVID-l9 pandemic and the subsequent protocols put in place by governments of member countries to prevent the spread of the disease have serious implications for the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020 as agreed by the National Offices.
Please note that the proposal from the Secretariat on the need to reschedule WASSCE (SC) 2020 was approved by the Chairman of Council.
Consequently, the Registrar hereby directs that
l. the WASSCE (SC) 2020 Timetable be suspended until further notice;
2. the conduct of WASSCE (SC) 2020be put on hold until further notice;
3. directives (1) and (2) will be reviewed when the health situation improves.
Kindly note the information for further action and communicate the directives to the Ministry of Education and the general public in your country.
