Minister Reaffirms Government’s Support for Local AI Innovation Ahead of Dodo Summit 2025

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting local technological innovation, describing homegrown Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions as critical to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

The Minister made the remarks when a delegation from Dodo Technologies Limited, a Ghanaian AI and communication technology company, paid a courtesy call on him to provide updates on preparations for the upcoming Dodo Summit 2025, scheduled for 10th December 2025 at the UPSA Auditorium in Accra.

Hon. Samuel Nartey George commended the company for its innovation and forward-thinking approach, particularly in developing indigenous solutions aimed at addressing communication challenges within both the public and private sectors. According to him, strengthening local innovators aligns with government’s mission to build a robust, self-sustaining, and inclusive digital economy anchored on data sovereignty, innovation, and efficient digital governance.

“We believe empowering Ghanaian innovators is key to shaping a digital future that reflects our identity and meets our unique needs,” he stated.

During the meeting, Mr. Kane Mani, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dodo Technologies, briefed the Minister on the company’s groundbreaking AI platform designed to “end fragmented communication.” The technology integrates internal communication, customer engagement, and public interaction into a single system — a solution developed entirely in Ghana.

Mr. Mani noted that the innovation positions Ghana not just as a consumer of technology, but as a producer of transformative AI tools capable of competing on the global stage.

The upcoming Dodo Summit 2025, themed “The End of Fragmented Communication,” is expected to convene policymakers, captains of industry, innovation leaders, and technology enthusiasts to discuss AI policy, digital governance, and the future of communication in Africa. The summit will also showcase Ghana’s growing technological capability and highlight opportunities for collaboration between government and the private sector.
