The Teen Show: The history of Ghana Acted by Children to air in 2020.

TV production companies Mcjude Empire and The Move Multimedia are set to reintroduce children to historical stories of Ghana with the introduction of a TV series titled the Teen Show.

Airing from next year, the Teen Show will seek to tell Ghanaian folktales in a highly educative and entertaining way using child actors.

Besides the Teen Show, Mcjude Empire and The Move Multimedia has already produced and premiered movies of some Ghanaian folk heroes and historical figures including ‘Yaa Asantewa, and King Agorkorli’ with the story of Okomfo Anokye currently in preproduction..

If you visit this site right here, you can feature a pool of new and upcoming actors and actresses from the Greater Accra Region, Central Region and the Volta Region, producers of the show also seek to use The Teen Show to hunt for other young talents to meet the needs of the Ghanaian movie industry.

Apart from helping to grow the creative industry in Ghana, the movies are also targeted at arresting the gradual decline of interest in Ghana’s culture among the youth.

Chief Executive Officer of Mcjude Empire, McJude Gborwoko Apedo who believes history saves mankind from repeating past mistakes, says today’s generation must learn from history, the strength and weaknesses of their ancestors as well as their vision and mission as leaders to enable them build a better tomorrow.

“Nobody can tell our stories to our children better than ourselves. We have rich culture and moral values, only we can preserve them,” he said.

“We cast children for our movies and premiere the films in the cinemas for the children. We want them to identify with their own history and heritage and the best way to get them to show interest in their own history,” he added.

He revealed that the ultimate goal of the project is to eventually get the production shown on national televisions along with panel discussions to review the facts and lore behind such famous stories.

The Artistic Mind of a Criminal

I used to have a client who is a professor when it comes to art, paintings and antiques. He paints one portrait and makes millions out of it and that really fascinated me so much that I started doing some research into the Art, paintings and antiques industry. I discovered that the painting industry in Ghana is very small and young but elsewhere in the world, it is a huge industry which contributes significantly to the economy of these countries. The USA economy in 2014 and 2015 benefited US$730 billion and US$763.6 billion respectively from the Art, Paintings and Antiques sector(1). US$12 billion (£9.2 billion) was contributed to the UK GDP in 2016 from the Art and Painting sector(2) with Singapore’s Art and Painting contributing S$2.13 billion to the GDP in 2013(3).
